Mechanical Engineer - *NEW*

Summary:

Project engineering, designing, drawings, and process engineering for plastics extrusion company with cross functional engineering team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary
  • Responsible for project engineering; small to large projects from conception to implementation
     
  • Knowledge of plant services equipment consisting of chillers, process piping, air compressors and systems, and pneumatic material handling systems.
     
  • Designing and preparing drawings for plant equipment layouts and upgrades.
     
  • Designing and preparing drawings for machinery retrofits and upgrades.
     
  • Familiar with machine shop and fabrication principles with the ability to provide working drawings for fabrication.
     
  • Process engineering of plastic extrusion and downstream equipment.
     
  • Design of structural steel platforms and equipment foundations.
     
  • All other projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
     
  • COMPUTER SKILLS:  Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook and Internet Explorer.  Auto CAD and Auto CAD Inventor.
     
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to coordinate activities of cross-functional teams effectively.
     
  • ORGANIZATIONAL:  Excellent organizational and follow-up skills required.
     
  • APTITUDES: Position requires ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrated initiative to drive projects to completion in a timely manner. Team oriented, self-motivation, and mechanical style are essential to the success of this position.

Job Title:

Maintenance Electrician

Summary:

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.  Must be able to lift and carry equipment as well as work on elevated levels.

FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.  Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.  Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.  Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus such as transformers, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.  Troubleshoot industrial electronic controls using PC/PLC and other electrical devices.  Lies out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. 

  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.  Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.

  • Traces out short circuits in wiring.  Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.  Performs minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.  Troubleshoot and disassemble defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.  Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or GED required.  Associates degree in Industrial Electricity/Electronics or 4 years’ experience in related field and/or combination.  Experience with welding and fabrication is preferred.  HVAC experience preferred.
     
  • SKILLS: Accomplished skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and reading schematics are necessary to perform in this job.  Knowledge of AC/DC motors, motor drives, and PLC's are required.  HVAC knowledge is preferred.
     
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to perform in multi-craft environment.  This is a first shift job but will be on call whenever needed.  Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Extruder Operators

Summary:

Set up equipment and make all standard adjustments to start up.  Run product in efficient productive manner.  Responsible for quality and quantity of production, inspection of product, packaging and housekeeping around equipment.  Prepare daily production report.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary
  • Ensure appearance, color and clarity of products.

  • Checks dimensions for accuracy (including width, gauge and length).

  • Positions and secures labels on products. Checks labels for accuracy.

  • Able to verify quality of product by camber and air checks.

  • Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.

  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.

  • Provide accurate daily production reports.

Material Handlers

Summary:

Responsible for supplying operators with material and packaging supplies, helping operators start up, shut down machines and help package and inspect products when necessary.  Relieves operators for breaks, weighing, tagging and segregating materials, operating granulators safely and efficiently, cleaning and care of plant.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary
  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials, containers or products to be moved.  Opens containers.  Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and/or moving devices/machines.

  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals forklift drivers or hoisting operators to move load to destination.

  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Attached identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, batches, or other containers.

  • Clamps sections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products. Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to compound for analysis.

  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators. Makes simple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollers.
